A Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN) is a unique, numerical identifier that contains a year and serial number. The LCCN is assigned by the Library of Congress to book titles before they are published. The Library of Congress decides whether a book is added to its collection after publication, when you mail a copy of your book to the Library for review.
Note: You only need one LCCN per book title. Your LCCN(s) will be delivered to your email within 1 to 2 business days. Be sure to whitelist [email protected] to prevent the email from going to your spam folder.

Copy Editing & Proofreading

Depending on how clean your manuscript is, you may need to have both a copy edit and a proofread pass on your book. Our editors can help you decide which is best for your needs.
Your copy editor is the person who will take your polished manuscript and really make it shine. No matter how many times you’ve been through your manuscript, and no matter how many times you’ve had beta readers review it, there will still be errors. A professional copy editor reviews your book for spelling, punctuation, and grammar mistakes.
The proofreader takes your proof copy and ensures that everything is correct. This is your last chance to find and correct any mistakes before you publish (and there will still be mistakes, even at this stage).
